Poem #1

I'm always asking myself questions about life and why I act the way that I do. Today I guess I'm just missing someone. I'm snowed in with my family and it's a miracle that we haven't all killed each other yet. anyway. I have a few poems that I'm going to post on here. Starting with this one:

Today is a bold day
As I look back
I see the pages of a tattered journal
The ones with words
And the ones left empty
I see the beauty of time well spent
And time well wasted
I see the past
That makes me eager for the future
I see how life has shaped me
And I thank God for his discipline
I thank Him for everything he gave me
But also for the things that he took away
I can finally see the beauty of my own heart
A lesson that often takes a life time
That people are more then faces
They are more then the things that they do
More then their mistakes
More then their accomplishments
And more then they give themselves credit for
But this is life
And the ways of the world blind us
We're blinded from the beauty that continually surrounds us.
Take time to breathe
To stop and see the beauty in everything
To never hold back
To laugh off your mistakes
But at the same time learn from them
Every day is a choice
Live, or go with the motions
I used to just be along for the ride
Eyes closed, holding on tight
Hoping that in the end everything will be alright
But that's no way to live
Experience this world for all it's worth
The hurt, the sadness, the anger
The joy, the peace, and the love
For after all
You only get once chance <3

I think I'll go play guitar now...
I'll write again very soon.
